Microsoft in CES

It looks like Microsoft made its last appearance at the CES at this year’s edition. The next edition CES 2013 to be held at Las Vegas, sometime in January, where Microsoft will not be setting up an exhibit on the floor or make a keynote speech at the event.

However that absence of Microsoft in physical form may not mean that they won’t be there in spirit either. Consumer Electronics Association, the organizers of the show mentioned that the show will have more than 20,000 products on display. As per a News.com information, the CEA is estimating that there will be a huge array of Windows 8 hardware among those gadgets.

A number of new Smartphones and tablet devices, some of which have not yet been announced or will be launched at the show, will be on display. More than 150,000 attendees will be inside Las Vegas Convention Center to take part in the event. 2012 figures show a total of 153,000 people had attended the event.

Even though Microsoft will not be there, more than 3,000 other exhibitors will be there representing 150 countries. However, the absence of Microsoft will be conspicuous and the void will be difficult to fill.
