Asus VIVO Tab

Microsoft is back in action! Yes folks, it stands true as Microsoft Windows RT tablet has managed to gain a decent ground among geeks and business folks since its release. But will this dominance stay intact? We aren’t very sure since we still have to see how Lenovo and Samsung windows RT tablets perform. However, the turf isn’t monotonous anymore for the Microsoft Surface RT tab. Asus, a well-known computer and communication devices manufacturer, has also jumped the Windows RT tablet race. Asus has lately unveiled Asus Vivo tab that looks like a bettered Transformer tablet. But Transformer came packed with Android and this Vivo; boasts of an all new Windows for ARM (Windows RT). Before raging more about how wonderful Asus’s RT tab is, let’s see what exactly Microsoft Surface RT claims of.

Microsoft surface RT is a tablet from Microsoft itself that comes packaged with Windows RT. This flagship RT based tablet from Microsoft packs the power of NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor with 2 GB RAM. The cool thing is that Microsoft Surface and the ASUS VIVO   Tab carry the same processor and RAM. However, they are also different at some crucial points. The table below shows a complete comparison of these two tablets.

Asus Vivo tablet can easily be used as a tablet since you can detach the keyboard. Microsoft Surface RT on the other hand comes with an unconventional touch cover keyboard. Now we leave it to the users that what kind of keyboard, detachable or undetectable, they’d love to go with. Another difference between the two tabs is that the MS surface RT features 720p Camera on rear and the front. Asus, however, comes with a 2 Mega Pixel front camera supported by a 5 Megapixel rear. Microsoft Surface has an HD video out port while Asus Vivo comes with a MicroHDMI port.

Another great advantage of acquiring an Asus VIVO tab is that you get a whole range of sensors. These sensors are:

  • Ambient Light Sensor
  • Accelorometer
  • Gyroscope
  • Compass
  • GPS
  • NFC

Microsoft Surface RT doesn’t come with a GPS facility or any thing called NFC.

All in all, it is evident that with Microsoft Windows RT available, the tablet scene is going to get more interested in coming days. I, for one, can not really make up my mind regarding which surface tablet I’d like in my possession. But as a GPS and NFC freakand user, Asuss VIVO tab offers a far better value to me than the Microsoft RT. However, I don’t really go with the concept of a detachable keyboard, so in that case my obvious leaning is towards the Microsoft Surface RT Tablet.

We all have our own preferences. Some of you might think Asus’s hardware will make ’em happy, while others, who are brand conscious and like chic finishing, might opt for MS surface RT tablet. Let’s get over the confusion and you tell me which one you’d prefer in the comments area below.
