Microsoft Surface Tablet

Last August 8 (8/8), Microsoft held a party at its Redmond headquarters for a Windows 8 celebration. Despite not being able to make 8888 the final build of its latest operating system, Microsoft managed to build a giant cake that includes a table and five Microsoft Surface Tablet devices for everyone in the party to see. The cake was a representation that Windows 8 is now fully baked and ready to conquer the world.

There were no iPhone or Android representatives in the party but the celebration marked the Release to Manufacturing milestone and the celebration of almost 2 years of developing the new touch-inspired Windows 8 interface. On August 15, Microsoft will release the new operating system to TechNet and MSDN developers, while October 26th is the scheduled general availability date for all consumers. Around this same time of Windows 8 availability, Microsoft is set to release its new Surface RT tablet. The new Microsoft Surface tablet is expected to be offered at the similar price range of the ARM-based tablets currently available in the market.
