surface tablet in uk

Just last Friday Microsoft announced they are finally letting go of their censorship of other retailers in terms of availability of the Surface RT Tablet. They had announced that customers in the US and Australia will now be able to purchase the tablet at the online and offline stores other than those of Microsoft. On Thursday British retail store chain John Lewis announced that the Surface RT tablet is going to be available to British customers at their online and offline stores.

On Friday the tablet was made available for sale on the online store of John Lewis while the physical stores are going to see the arrival of the most popular Windows RT / 8 device this weekend. A spokesman from John Lewis mentioned that there has been a growing demand for Windows 8 based devices and they are making sure that their customers gets access to the very best that is available. The addition of Surface RT to their shelves is a great news for John Lewis.

At the moment, however, John Lewis is going to have only the 32 GB and 64 GB models with the black Touch Keyboard (to be retailed for £479 and £559 respectively). If anyone is interested in the keyboardless model then the only option is to buy it directly from Microsoft (sold for £399). It is also not clear at this time whether John Lewis is going to have accessories for the Surface or not.
