MS Surface Tablet

Microsoft has been promoting the Surface contest wherever and however they can. The recent attempt was at a Venice, California holiday bash for Hollywood actors held earlier this week.  It seems that after their brethrens at Hollywood, it is the turn of the music industry for Microsoft’s next big push with the Surface RT Tablet. The official Surface YouTube page reveals a new TV ad that shows Microsoft is in talks with the Grammy organization to promote new and yet unknown music bands. The grand prize being a chance to perform live at a Grammy event as part of the Grammy Awards festivities during the February 4th week. It is further stated that the winning band could be selected by Microsoft to be a part of a Microsoft TV commercial / advertising.

Apart from all the awards and the recognition that the band will receive, all the members will be flown to Los Angeles for the festivities lasting five days and four nights. Each member of the band will also receive their own Surface tablets.

Entries for the contest are now open and will remain open till January 10, 2013. The band must not have more than four members and all entries must be accompanied by a show of one of their original songs (no covers are accepted as per the rules) uploaded to YouTube, Vevo or Vimeo. The selection process will start when people will start to vote for their favorite videos starting Jan 10th for a total of one week. The first shortlisting will happen when the finalists will undergo another round of voting for one week when the ultimate winner will be chosen.
