Windows RT Updates

The Surface RT should be appreciated as a very good attempt by Microsoft at the hardware segment, in spite of the fact that there are some nagging issues with both the hardware and the software that powers it. Performance wise there is still a lot of room to improve as there are several issues such as the awful amount of time taken to load apps and animations not exactly what can be termed as ‘smooth’. However things will hopefully improve as Microsoft takes note of the Version 1 issues and tweaks everything.

Updates such as those released (at 13 November) as part of the software giant’s ‘Patch Tuesday’ program are surely going to help. Today’s update contained eight updates including one serious firmware update related with security issues. We tested the system post the update and we feel that the start-up performance of the apps have improved. We got updated in 27 minutes, while constantly going to stand by mode during the process.
