Plans for an upcoming Nokia version of the Microsoft Surface tablet were revealed recently through a report from theverge.com. The 10.1-inch screen display of the tablet offering of Nokia, which will reportedly be unveiled next year, is similar to the display of the Surface RT tablet. It will also come with USB and HDMI ports, and will offer cellular connectivity. AT&T is expected to be among the first mobile service provider that will offer the tablet.

The cover of the Nokia is reportedly being highlighted by the company. The unique cover for the Nokia tablet will enclose the entire device and will offer a kickstand and keyboard once it is attached into the tablet. The cover will also have its own battery that the tablet can use if it is low on power. The cover will also have a pair of USB ports that will add to the connectivity options of the tablet. The Nokia tablet will have a battery life of ten hours and offers a fast charging capability that brings the power level to fifty percent after a short time.

Reports have hinted at the possibility that Nokia will initially produce a number of tablets before they will manufacture a tablet using the Windows 8 OS. The initial tablet offering of the company will use an ARM processor and the Windows RT OS of Microsoft. The Nokia version of the Surface RT tablet will reportedly be launched in February at the Mobile World Congress.

For the moment no statements were released by Nokia in connection to reports that it will release its own version of the Microsoft Surface tablet.
