Microsoft surface pro tablet

The fourth quarter earnings of Microsoft for 2012 reached $21.46 billion due to the increased revenue of the Windows division of the company. However, no specific figures were revealed by the company in the sales of the Microsoft Surface tablet. Microsoft CFO Peter Klein revealed that the company will expand the product line-up after an analyst asked about the Surface RT tablet.

Klein also indicated that the company aims to increase the geographical distribution of the device as well as the number of retail outlets that will offer the Microsoft Surface tablet. He also indicated that that device contributed to the growth in the revenue of the company. The statement may give indications that the company may release the Microsoft Surface Pro into the market soon although it is highly possible that the line-up may include devices that were not yet officially revealed by the company.

An earlier report had given hints on the future of the Microsoft Surface tablet. It indicated that the second-generation will feature three models with different sizes. Although the CFO of the company said that the Surface tablet has a future, its successor may not be coming any time soon. It will likely come after the Windows Blue enters the market and when the Windows 8 has a significant share of the market.
