Minesweeper Surface Tablet

When the Microsoft Surface tablet with the Windows RT was release, it did not have the Minesweeper game that was included in nearly all Windows OS versions starting from the release of Windows 3.1.

When Windows 8 was launched, a free downloadable version of the Minesweeper game was offered by Microsoft through the Windows Store. But this version of the game was not compatible with the ARM-based version of the OS. An update for the Minesweeper game recently became available at the Windows Store which would allow it to be used on the Surface RT tablet, according to a neowin.net report.

The latest version of the Minesweeper game offers two play modes for players using the Surface RT tablet. The first mode is the classic version of the game where boxes inside a grid are clicked by the players. They have to avoid clicking on the mines that are hidden under some of the boxes. The second mode is considered as the Adventure mode, which will require players collect riches as they travel to the center of the Earth, according to Microsoft.

Players will also receive challenges to complete daily with the latest version of the Minesweeper game. In addition players will also have to unlock some Xbox Live achievements and shows online leader boards that will allow them to compare their scores with other players. There are two other games that were designed for Windows 8, Mahjong and Solitaire, are also not compatible with the Microsoft Surface Tablet with the Windows RT. However, the description has indicated that the operating system will support the game soon.
