Microsoft Surface Pro

It appears that the Surface Pro tablet may be available by January next year according to a recent report from the Verge. The Pro model of the Microsoft Surface tablet will have a price tag of $899 and offers more power compared to the Surface RT tablet. It comes with a Core i5 processor from Intel along with a 1080p HD display. The upcoming tablet will also use the Windows 8 OS, which would allow it to run all legacy Windows applications of a desktop and laptop. In comparison, the legacy Windows applications cannot run in previous model of the tablet that used the Windows RT OS.

Although the tablet will not be bundled with the Touch Cover or the Type Cover, it is compatible to these keyboard options. However, the device will come with the Surface pen, Microsoft revealed. The Mini DisplayPort of the device will allow it to be connected to a screen that has a maximum resolution of 2560 by 1440. The tablet also features a USB 3.0 port. Although the Pro model of the device is slightly thicker and heavier than the Surface RT tablet, it still has a thickness of less than 14mm and weighs less than two pounds. The price tag of the 64GB model and 128GB model of the device is at $899 and $999, respectively.

Microsoft did not reveal the specific release date and the date when pre-orders will be accepted for the Surface Pro tablet. But additional information about the upcoming availability of the device will likely be announced in the coming weeks.
