Surface RT Tablet

Complaints have poured in over a serious issue that plagues the Surface RT Tablet. When using the Touch Cover users have reported that the sound of the Surface RT had unexpectedly gone mute. Microsoft has responded to these reports by saying that they are looking into the problem.

In spite of the fact that some users did manage to get a replacement for their Touch Covers, Microsoft said that this is mostly certainly a software issue and that means changing the Touch Covers is not likely to make an impact.

An user on Microsoft’s support forum seems to veto this when he mentioned that a change in his Touch Cover did not correct the problem. When he reported back the matter he was told that this is a software issue and that a patch will be made available soon which will correct it. Till then Microsoft’s support team is suggesting a temporary solution and that is to wake the Surface RT out of its sleep mode by pressing a key rather than touching the touchpad.

As of yet no update on when the patch is going to be available is known however it is likely that Microsoft will be using the first Patch Tuesday event of 2013 to make it available.
